A route of over 7 km, with 5 km suspended over the waters of the lagoon, perfect for immersing yourself in the unique and fascinating atmosphere of Cavallino Treporti. We are talking about the “Via del Respiro” (Breathway), the new cycle and pedestrian path overlooking the Pordelio Canal, which allows you to discover our lagoon habitat in a completely new and eco-friendly way.
CYCLING ALONG THE “VIA DEL RESPIRO” (BREATHWAY)
As part of a project aimed at ensuring even slower, safer, and more sustainable mobility in Cavallino Treporti, the path was inaugurated on July 5th, 2022 (659 days ahead of schedule) and leads from the Cavallino area to Punta Sabbioni, where you can take the motorboat to Venice or continue along the dam that leads to the lighthouse and the beach of the same name.
The cycle and pedestrian path, entirely made of steel and wood, has been named the “Via del Respiro” (Breathway) and boasts the record of being the longest elevated cycle path in Europe.
It offers a unique panoramic route for cyclists and pedestrians, immersed in the nature of the Venetian lagoon and with breathtaking views of the islands of Burano and Torcello, the MOSE system, and the Adriatic Sea.

The new Pordelio cycle path is a safe route suitable for anyone, from two-wheelers to pedestrians. From here there are also several cycling itineraries that will allow you to reach and discover historic villages, secret gardens and large lagoon spaces to contemplate in the company of friends, children and family.
The lighting system makes even night rides in the moonlight truly enchanting and romantic, with the relaxing lapping of the water in the background.
